This blog is allowing me to speak openly as a diabetic who is running “out of sight”. My guess is that you are going through something similar or have someone close to you who is. Whatever the reason, thank you for joining me on this crazy journey.
Alongside the pressures of what life already throws at us, there is no doubt in my mind that adding diabetes and its complications into the mix can leave even the best of us in need of both a laugh at life as well as that reassuring “it will be Ok” from time to time. My advice to you is that it will be OK and you really shouldn’t be too hard on yourself.
This is often easier said than done and trust me, I’ve had my fair share of meltdowns to prove it. With this in mind; I want to share my own personal stories and experiences, offer tips that I found helpful, provide suggestions for family and friends and inform you about available products and resources that will make life a little less complicated.
Most importantly though. I’ve found that there is so much out there about diabetes as a disease but very little about the diabetic in the middle of it all. I hope that this blog can plug some of that gap and offer comfort in the knowledge that there are people like you and families like yours who have come to terms with the changes it takes but still live with the trials and tribulations that each day can bring. Wherever you are in this process, I hope the blog helps you as much as it does me.
